Need Urgent Attention! Here’s a quick update on Shruti Agrawal ’ treatment.

This last week, Shruti was advised to run a full brain MRI, which revealed 4 new tumours in her brain. Following the discovery, she has been advised to change her current treatment plan immediately.

The medical team has confirmed that she is not eligible for a surgery as the procedure is very risky and comes with a lot of complications. They’ve started her on Radiotherapy to try and control the growth. 10 consecutive days of Radiotherapy has been prescribed - 27th June till 8th July, 2022.

She has had 8 cycles of radiotherapy since 27th June, 2022 till today.

The medical team has also changed the medication combination of Perjeta & Herclon to TDM1(Kadecyla) in combination with Radiotherapy. The earlier combination of medication prescribed unfortunately, did not carry to the brain which led to the disease spreading to the head.

New Drug Information:

1. TDM1(Kadecyla) will hopefully help treat the brain tumours as well
2. She has been advised to start her 1st cycle of TDM1(Kadecyla) on the 12th of July, 2022 - and to continue her cycles every 21 days from then on
3. She requires 200mg of TDM1(Kadecyla) every cycle (every 21 days)
4. A 100mg vial of TDM1(Kadecyla) estimates to MRP ₹1,71,963/- *
5. 200mg for each session estimates to MRP ₹3,43,926/- *
6. This is the cost of just the medication alone, aside from the hospital expenses

We urgently require funds for at least 6 vials to help her get started at the moment.
We currently have enough to start her 1st cycle on the 12th of July.

After her 4th infusion of the new drug she will undergo another MRI and screening to check the response of the medication.

Her recent PET CT scans as of 28th July, 2022, thankfully reveal that the existing bone mets on the spine are inactive and the other parts are clear. This helps us focus our efforts on treating the brain tumours. She will have to repeat her next PET CT in 6 months from now i.e. December 2022.
